LSC is pure, natural biochar, mixed 50/50 with premium quality aerobic compost and inoculated with earthworm tea.

Our biochar is pyrolised from natural uncontaminated, untreated bush, brush and trees to produce the highest grade gardening/agricultural biochar with minimal ash content. The biochar is processed at around 600 degrees Celsius and then steam-quenched, ensuring a partially activated carbon with maximal porosity.

We make organic aerobic compost from local plant material, mixed with a combination of cow manure, horse manure and chicken manure. The maturing of the compost is aided by adding biochar, molasses and seaweed extract. Rock dust and alfalfa complete a product that is teeming with micro-organisms and nutrients.

We use the rich and fertile castings from our earthworm bins to bubble up over 24 hours in pure rain water. To assist rapid growth of aerobic bacteria, we add molasses and seaweed extract to the mix.

Usage recommendations

New Garden Beds:  Sprinkle 1-3 litres/m2 and work it into the soil about 12 cm deep. The better the soil, the less you need. For best results, add compost on top, then plant and add a layer of mulch.

Shrubs and trees:  Add a cup of LSC in the hole before planting. For existing plants, poke a few holes around the plant to insert some LSC into the soil.

Containers:  Mix LSC into potting soil at a ratio of 1:10. No need to replace your potting soil in the future. The biochar will keep the soil alive.
